EMERGENCY GRANTS

Emergency Grants

An Emergency Grant is not a 'top up' award - all students are short of money. You must show in your application how you had made provision for your living expenses for the whole academic year. Emergency Grants are not available for a shortfall in fees.

The Emergency Grant scheme is intended to help those women graduate students who are faced with financial difficulties because of unforeseen and unexpected circumstances beyond their control which might prevent the completion of their year's work.

Applications will be considered three times a year: in March June and November.

The closing date for the March round of grants is Thursday 9 February 2012. Forms available from late November 2011.

The closing date for the June round of grants will be Wednesday 30 May 2012. Application forms will be available from late March 2012.

The closing date for the November round of grants will be Friday 12 October 2012. Forms available from late August 2012.

	These are one off payments to assist with the completion of an academic year’s work. No grant is likely to exceed £2,500. All our grants are offered on a needs basis and therefore not all grants will be for £2,500.
	Women graduates from Britain and overseas are eligible to apply
	There is no upper age limit

HOW TO APPLY

An application form for an Emergency Grant may be obtained by e-mail only from the Grants Administrator at:- jean.c@blueyonder.co.uk you need to explain the nature of the emergency and the course you are studying.

POINTS TO BE NOTED

	Answer all the questions on the application form, do not enter 'refer to CV' in any of the sections
	The application form must be completed on a computer and returned by e-mail to jean.c@blueyonder.co.uk A hard signed copy of your application must be returned to the Grants Administrator at the address on the form.
	Obtain the consent of your referees before submitting their names and draw their attention to the closing date for your application. WITHOUT BOTH REFERENCES APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
	ONE OF YOUR REFERENCE FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED BY YOUR TUTOR OR SUPERVISOR
	It is YOUR responsibility to ensure your references arrive before the closing date for application forms

If you are successful you will be informed of the outcome of your application approximately two months after the closing date.

You can be assured that all applications meeting the stated criteria will be considered sympathetically but remember that the Foundation's funds are limited and not all who apply will receive a grant .
